This design was created by warping/twisting the words from the Holstee Manifesto:
“This is your life. Do what you want and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over-analyzing, life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Life is simple. Open your heart, mind and arms to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Life is short, live your dream and wear your passion.”
Long time TEKST fans should recognize this design. Back in 2012 I was commissioned by Holstee to redesign this incredibly famous Manifesto. The design quickly sold out and the making of video became one of the most viewed videos on the TEKSTartist Youtube channel.
When Dave (founder of Holstee) asked me to create this piece back in 2012, his only requirement was that what I delivered was one of my favorite piece I’ve ever created. Hundreds of designs later and the Manifesto from Holstee remains one of the most requested, and most loved, designs I’ve ever released.
For years I’ve received countless emails asking if/when it would be available again. Pair that with all the chaos happening behind the scenes right now getting Derbbyready for launch revisiting this design gave me the time I needed. Not to mention revisiting the quote helped remind me why I started in the first place.
